           Using selections

 

  With vectors

 

  

                       

Note:  I use full size images for my tutorials so please allow the page to fully load.

For this tutorial you will need:

Open a new transparent image 244 x 452:

Add a New Raster Layer.  Name this layer pants and go to Selections> Load from Disk> pants.sel.  Flood fill with black and go to Selections> Modify>  Contract by 2 and flood fill with #008000.  Go to Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds and apply these settings:

  Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it left shoe.  Load from Disk> left_shoe.sel and flood fill with black.   Go to Effect> 3D Effect> Inner Bevel and apply these settings:

Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it right shoe and Load from Disk> right_shoe.sel.  Flood fill with black.   Apply the same Inner Bevel as the left shoe.  Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it shirt.  Load from Disk> shirt.sel and flood fill with black and go to Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with #C00000.  If you would like to add a texture effect to the shirt now is the time to do so. Leave selected.  Go to Effects > Plugins > Fantastic Machines and use these settings:

Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it left hand,  Load from Disk> left_hand.sel and flood with #A76507 and go to Selections> Modify> Contract by 2 and flood fill with #F0CFA0.   

Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it right hand,  Load from Disk> right_hand.sel and flood with #A76507 and go to Selections> Modify> Contract by 2 and flood fill with #F0CFA0.   

Deselect.

Add a New Raster Layer and name it left drumstick and Load from Disk > lt_drumstick.sel and floodfill with #73480B.  Next go to Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with #A76507.  Deselect.  Load from Disk > lt_drumstick_head.sel and floodfill with #73490B and Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with #A76507.  Now we are going to apply this Inner Bevel using these settings:

Deselect. 

Add a New Raster Layer and name it right drumstick and Load from Disk > rt_drumstick.sel and floodfill with #73480B.  Next go to Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with #A76507.  Deselect.  Load from Disk > rt_drumstick_head.sel and floodfill with #73490B and Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with #A76507.  Now we are going to apply this Inner Bevel using these settings:

Deselect.
