For this tutorial you will need:

Paint Shop Pro 8 ~ download a trial version here.

My selections ~ download here.

Gradient ~ download here.

1. Let's begin.  Open a new transparent image 545 X 400.

2.  Floodfill this layer with a dark color so it will be easier to see what you are doing.  At the end of the tutorial you can clear or delete this layer.

3.  Add a new raster layer and name it head.  Load from disk > head.sel and floodfill with the gradient:

Angle 90; Repeat 0; Invert unchecked.

Selections > Select All > Float and apply this cutout:

V & H: 3  Opacity 80  Blur 20  Shadow color: #39D76B:

Apply the cutout again changing the V & H to minus 3 (-3).  Deselect.

4.  Add a new raster layer and name it body1.  Load from Disk > body1.sel and floodfill with gradient same settings.  Selections > Select All > Float and apply this cutout:

V & H: -2  Opacity 80  Blur 20 Shadow color: #39D76B

Deselect.

5.  Repeat Step 4 for the rest of the body parts renaming the layers accordingly.

6.  Add a new raster layer and name it outer eyes.  Load from Disk > outer eyes.sel and floodfill with black and go to Selections > Modify > Contract by 2 and floodfill with white.  Deselect.

7.  Add a new raster layer and name it details.  Load from Disk > details.sel and floodfill with black.  Deselect.

8.  Now activiate layer 1 and go to Edit > Clear and this will return this layer to transparency.  Now hide layer 1 and merge all layers visible and you are ready to tube your Glo Worm.
